  Standard Basestations
Standard Basestations The Standard Basestations do not provide handportable to handportable or mobile to mobile contact as does the repeater/talkthrough basestations do.
They are a local control point, providing a high power link to vehicle mounted mobiles, handportables and pagers.
Normally operated from the mains, they can be operated with battery backup for mains failure or can be operated solely from a battery for portable operations.
  Repeater Basestations
Repeater Basestations These basestations ( also called talkthrough basestations ) provide a high power link between vehicle mounted mobiles or handportables so that these mobile units can talk to each other.
The basestation can either be installed in a high (to improve coverage), unattended site at a remote location with no control point or they can be installed with one or more fixed control points, such as an office, so that contact can be made to the mobile units.
Because of the additional costs involved in the remote site, this type of basestation can also be supplied as a ' desk top local repeater' giving the same operational links, ie mobile to mobile contact as well as office to mobile contact, but with a reduced coverage area due to the lack of height of the basestation location.

Telephone Answering on your Two Way
Telephone Answering on your Two Way You can answer the phone on a handportable or vehicle mobile with these units which extends the usefulness of your ' two way radio ' system.. Taxi firms are normally only permitted to use these 'out of hours'
